HOW MOXI LASER WORKS

MOXI employs a gentle yet powerful fractionated laser, tailored with inclusivity in mind for all individuals. Whether it be signs of sun damage or ageing, MOXI can be freely used to treat you no matter the season or skin type.

Dependant on the goals you’ve discussed during your consultation with our practitioner, a topical numbing cream may be applied to your skin treatment area 30-45 minutes before your treatment. Throughout the treatment, our practitioners may incorporate cold air, effectively ensuring your comfort throughout the process.

As our skilled practitioner moves the MOXI laser over your skin during the treatment, you may experience a gentle warming sensation, indicating that the laser is effectively targeting the desired areas.

MOXI generates micro-coagulation zones within the skin, prompting the body’s natural healing process to repair and replace damaged cells with healthy and revitalised skin.

On the day following your treatment, you may notice redness in your skin, and depending on the intensity of the treatment, you might observe small microdots called “mends” where the laser was applied. As the micro zones heal, they may darken and feel rough. Typically, between days 3 and 5, the mends will shed, revealing rejuvenated skin underneath.

FAQ

MOXI is a fractional laser treatment that rejuvenates the skin by creating micro-coagulation zones, triggering the body’s natural healing process. This leads to the replacement of damaged cells with healthier, more vibrant skin. The treatment is designed to address various skin concerns, including sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven texture, and pigmentation issues. It is known for its gentle yet effective approach, suitable for all skin types and tones.

The duration of MOXI treatment results may vary based on individual factors such as skin type, age, and lifestyle habits. Typically, patients can anticipate visible enhancements in skin texture, tone, and clarity shortly after treatment. These improvements often continue to progress over the ensuing weeks as the skin undergoes natural healing and regeneration stimulated by the treatment.

The longevity of results can be extended with proper skincare maintenance and sun protection. For long-term results based on your individual needs and goals, we recommend discussing this with your practitioner during your consultation.

You can typically expect to see your MOXI results within 5-7 days post-treatment. During this time, you may notice improvements in skin texture, tone, and clarity as the skin undergoes natural healing and regeneration processes stimulated by the treatment.

It’s important to note that individual results may vary, and optimal outcomes may continue to develop over the following weeks as your skin continues to rejuvenate.

The expected downtime for MOXI is 1 day with makeup being allowed to be worn 24 hours after treatment.

3-4 MOXI laser treatments are recommended with a 4-5 week gap between each treatment. Not to worry, during your consultation our practitioners will assess and walk you through your bespoke treatment plan for this dependent on your concerns.

MOXI is highly effective on darker skin tones and is suitable for all skin types. MOXI employs a 1,927-nanometer wavelength, uniquely targeting water within cells rather than skin pigment like many other laser treatments. This distinctive approach ensures safety for individuals with darker skin tones, minimising the risk of hyperpigmentation or melasma.

MOXI is generally suitable for individuals looking to improve skin texture, tone, and overall complexion, as well as those seeking to address issues such as sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven pigmentation.

Determining if you are a suitable candidate for MOXI treatment depends on various factors, including your skin type, concerns, lifestyle habits and treatment goals.

Great questions to ask yourself to find out whether MOXI might be the right treatment for you are:

  • Are you seeking a preventative treatment to delay signs of ageing?
  • Do you want to enhance your skin’s appearance?
  • Do you want to enhance your current skincare routine with a laser treatment to sustain radiant skin throughout the year?
  • Have you tried invasive laser treatments in the past but want a solution with minimal downtime, discomfort and long-lasting visible results?

If you’ve answered yes to any of the above, then Moxi might be right for you. We recommend booking a consultation with our experienced practitioners who can assess and guide you on your skin journey.

The average MOXI face treatment time is 8-10 minutes excluding potential numbing time. The length of time will depend on the size of the treatment area.

MOXI and BBL Forever Young are both advanced treatments designed to rejuvenate the skin and address various concerns, but they utilise different technologies and approaches.

MOXI is a fractional laser treatment that creates micro-coagulation zones within the skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing process to replace damaged cells with healthier, more vibrant skin. It is known for its gentle yet effective approach and is suitable for improving skin texture, tone, and overall complexion.

On the other hand, BBL (BroadBand Light) Forever Young is a broadband light therapy treatment that utilises high-intensity pulses of light to target specific skin concerns such as sun damage, age spots, redness, and fine lines. BBL Forever Young is also known for its ability to stimulate collagen production and promote skin rejuvenation.

While both MOXI and BBL Forever Young offer impressive results in skin rejuvenation, they target different skin concerns and utilise different technologies. They also are different in terms of when they can be used (no tan etc), what skin type can be treated and more.

At The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, we offer both MOXI and BBL Forever Young. The best treatment option for you depends on your specific skin needs and goals, which our qualified practitioner can discuss with you during consultation.
