With a chemical skin peel, a chemical solution is applied to the skin which causes it to slough off and peel off. The result is a smooth, less wrinkled complexion.
Chemical peels are suitable for the face, neck and even the hands. They can treat sun damaged skin, acne scarred skin, wrinkled skin as well as dull skin or poor skin quality in general.
We offer four types of chemical skin peel:
Red Carpet Peel – the new ZO stimulator peel:
Skin Brightening Peel – the new Glo therapeutics glycolic peel:
Clear Skin Peel – lactic acid Glo therapeutics peel:
Vitalize Peel – SkinMedica a three step peel:
The Glycolic peel is a treatment designed to improve and enhance the skin by chemically exfoliating the skin. It penetrates deeper than an LA peel. Glycolic acid stimulates collagen production, which can make the skin appear tighter. In many cases it reduces the need for cosmetic foundation and can significantly help to reduce blemishes, acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, acne and acne-prone skin.
Your medical practitioner will give you all the advice you need at your initial consultation.
You may be required to stop taking certain medicines beforehand.
The peel treatment involves a simple 20-minute procedure which painlessly removes the micro-thin top layer of skin that clogs your pores and prevents you from having better skin. Treated skin will appear smoother and softer with a plumper and more hydrated feel.
We will explain everything in detail and make you feel at ease and relaxed on the day of your treatment, knowing you’re in safe, expert and medically qualified hands.
It maybe that a chemical peel isn’t the right treatment for your wrinkles or acne, which is why your practitioner will discuss all the options with you at your consultation.
We strongly recommend that your chemical peel is carried out by a qualified practitioner. Your skin will naturally be sensitive after a chemical peel, so we advise patients to avoid the sun and wear factor 50 at all times.
No, there’s no downtime and you can resume your normal activities after treatment.
There’s no need for any anaesthetic so you may experience a burning sensation that lasts a short while, followed by a stinging sensation. A cool compress afterwards can help to ease this.
