The Daily Mail Nip & Tuck 21st August 2017
The Nip & Tuck articles by Dr Tracy Mountford appear weekly, in print and online, in the Monday ‘Inspire’ section. In this week’s column, a reader asks if face peels can improve dull looking skin:
Can face peels make my wrinkles disappear?
Dr Mountford recommends researching a medical cosmetic clinic that offers peels as well as other technologies for skin improvement. Chemical peels can help to illuminate dull complexions and refresh the skin’s quality. However, it is important to choose the right one depending on what you want to achieve.
If you want to exfoliate the skin, a more superficial peel such as the Obagi Radience Peel, will be beneficial. This has little to no downtime and a series of 4 to 6 peels will give the best results. If you wish to combat wrinkles in the deeper layers of the skin, then a full strength peel, such as the Obagi Blue Peel, is required. This peel is also excellent at treating pigmentation problems such as melasma and age spots. Please bear in mind, that this type of peel should only be administered by a trained practitioner who can deal with any possible outcomes.
