Is Coolsculpting in Buckinghamshire the right type of treatment for me?

By Dr. TRACY MOUNTFORD, MBBS MBCAM

Having a cosmetic procedure done can mean quite a few different things. After all, there are many types of cosmetic treatments available nowadays, and these are all designed to do different things to the body in different ways. One type of cosmetic treatment that is becoming increasingly popular is the non-surgical/ non-invasive treatment. These are treatments that do not require any surgery, yet still manage to achieve the result of sculpting the body.

A popular type of non-surgical cosmetic treatment is CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting is a fat freezing treatment that noticeably reduces fat in otherwise notoriously difficult areas of the body. For those of us who are attracted to the idea of non-surgical procedures, this fat reduction treatment may sound like the right option. But before making a decision on that, it is important to consider what CoolSculpting does and how it works.

Another important consideration is how to choose a clinic when considering this treatment. Here at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic in Buckinghamshire, we are experts and market leaders in providing non-surgical cosmetic treatments. With over 20,000 procedures performed, we are the leading clinic for fat freezing treatments both in the UK and in all of Western Europe, and thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable Coolsculpting practitioners, we have developed a reputation for providing our treatments in a holistic way that puts the patient first.

As touched on earlier, this is a fat reduction treatment. More specifically, it is an FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved form of fat freezing also known as cryolipolysis. The word cryolipolysis refers to how Coolsculpting (as well as some other fat reduction treatments) uses cold temperatures to break down fat cells. Once this process is started, the body can metabolise and get rid of any fat cells from the areas treated.(with most of these cells usually being dissolved into the bloodstream).

During the procedure itself, an applicator is used to suction in the area of fat being targeted to cool the fat cells. The cold temperatures generally result in the area feeling numb after about 5 to 10 minutes.

After this non-surgical fat removal procedure, over time, the body flushes out the dead fat cells via your lymphatic system. This generally means that the first results of a CoolSculpting treatment are visible after around 4 to 6 weeks, with the results progressively improving up until around 14 to 16 weeks after the treatment. As long as you maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle, for example, by eating well and exercising regularly, the results of your Coolsculpting treatment will be durable and long lasting.
