Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared procedure for treating loose and sagging skin in areas such as the face, neck, chin, brow and the décolletage. A good candidate for Ultherapy is anyone who has experienced skin laxity in these areas. The best way to gauge whether Ultherapy is the most appropriate treatment for your circumstances is to arrange a consultation.

Is Ultherapy the same as Thermage?

No. Ultherapy uses pulses of ultrasound to create a thermal effect that encourages the production of collagen. Thermage targets collagen in a similar fashion but employs radio waves to stimulate under the skin. The Thermage procedure tightens existing collagen prompts the production of new collagen.

What is an Ultherapy brow lift?

Ultherapy treatment applied to the forehead can produce a natural lift to the brow, creating a clear and refreshed look. This is the perfect procedure for anyone looking to correct bunching around the brow without the need for surgery.

Ultherapy is FDA approved for this procedure.

How many Ultherapy treatments do you need?

This is really down to the individual. The new collagen produced during the treatment helps to gradually lift the skin for up to a year or longer. The natural ageing process, however, cannot be halted and so you may wish to eventually have more.

Younger skin tends to produce more collagen, so age will play a factor in when you might wish to have another treatment.

Can Ultherapy treat areas of the body other than the face?

Ultherapy is currently an FDA-cleared treatment for the face, neck and decolletage with a specific clinical indication for lifting skin on the neck, chin and brow. If you’re concerned about other areas of the body that need tightening, please ask about our butt lift and breast lift procedures.

Can men have Ultherapy done?

Yes, of course. Many treatments at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic are ideal for both women and men, and all of our patients are treated with the utmost discretion.

Does Ultherapy work on the eyes?

Ultherapy is FDA-cleared for use on the face, neck, decolletage and eyes. The ultra-sound treatment stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin deep within the skin, kick-starting the body’s own repair process, creating a lifted effect. When used on the brow, it lifts and tightens the skin and improves the appearance of drooping eyelids.

It can be safely and effectively used under the eyes, as long as it is on the bone. For skin immediately under the lash line, Ultherapy is not advised. If, however, you are just looking to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area, other more suitable treatments such as dermal fillers, BOTOX® and Thermage Eyes are more appropriate.

Who can perform Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is only available in doctor-led clinics. The procedure can be performed by a qualified aesthetic medical practitioner, including nurses and experienced aestheticians who have extensive hands-on experience. At The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, our experienced nursing team perform Ultherapy every day and achieve positive results.
