Daily Mail Nip & Tuck – Can I Have A Facelift Without Going Under The Knife?

The Daily Mail Nip & Tuck 7th August 2017

The Nip & Tuck articles by Dr Tracy Mountford appear weekly, in print and online, in the Monday ‘Inspire’ section. In this week’s column, a reader asks about a non-surgical facelift to treat their sagging jawline:

Can I have a facelift without going under the knife?

Dr Mountford explains that, as we age, the skin around the jawline can start to sag. This is due to volume loss as well as skin and muscle laxity. Gum recession and bone loss in the skull can also occur, reducing the amount of support in the face.

If you don’t wish to undertake a surgical procedure, an expert cosmetic doctor can get excellent results with a non-surgical facelift. This can be achieved using a clever combination of dermal fillers to underpin the face, combined with an ultrasound treatment to tighten the skin. And unlike a surgical face-lift, there is no downtime and you can return to your normal activities directly after treatment.

Ultherapy, stimulates and remodels collagen production, which is a natural protein that keeps skin firmed and toned. This treatment uses focused ultrasound imaging to stimulate the growth of new collagen deep within the skin. The practitioner is able to see the tissues and skin layers as they are performing the treatment to ensure that the energy is focused precisely where it is needed.
