The Nip & Tuck articles by Dr Tracy Mountford appear weekly, in print and online, in the Monday ‘Inspire’ section. In this week’s column, a reader would like help in getting rid of wrinkles on the arms.
Dr Mountford explains that, vertical lines on the arms can be ageing, and slim people are prone to them. This is because as we get older skin loses elasticity and wrinkles develop. Arm exercises to tone the triceps and biceps and topical products that contain retinol will benefit and improve skin quality.
Dr Mountford also recommends a combination of treatments that work together to smooth and tighten wrinkled arms. First, a skin remodelling procedure called Profhilo which can be injected in points along your arms to tighten skin and smooth wrinkles. Then INTRAcel, a radio frequency skin tightening technology, combined with micro-needling, can boost existing collagen while stimulating its production.
This should give swift results that will improve over time.
