The Daily Mail Nip & Tuck 20th February 2017 – Will Regular Beauty Treatments Ruin My Botox?

The Daily Mail Nip & Tuck 20th February 2017

The Nip & Tuck articles by Dr Tracy Mountford appear weekly, in print and online for the Monday Inspire magazine’. And in this week’s column a reader asks about the effect of beauty treatments on Botox:

Will having regular beauty treatments ruin my botox?

Dr Mountford advises that a few considerations need to be taken into account post-treatment. Immediately after Botox, most practitioners recommend avoiding disturbing the treatment area to avoid the product spreading into other areas of the face. For example, you should avoid rubbing the area and not sleeping on the face. And you should also avoid lying down for the first few hours after treatment. In addition, you should have no facials at all for one to two weeks after treatment and then avoid the treated area when you do. However, lighter treatments can be re-started within a few days and Botox is often combined with these to enhance results.
