(Thursday 19th November) Dr Tracy Mountford joined women of all ages at the ‘Ageing Well’ Beauty event, at The Hospital Club London. The event hosted by Allergan was an opportunity to educate women on the facts about facial fillers, to dispel the myths, and empower women to take charge of how they want to age. Dr Mountford performed mini consultations for those interested in facial fillers and Professional Make-Up Artist Louise Constad gave makeovers to guests, along with great tips and tricks on how to enhance their and features using various grades of cosmetics.
The evening comprised of inspiring presentations by Allergan Managing Director Caroline Van Hove, Founder and Medical Director of The Cosmetic Skin Clinic – Dr Tracy Mountford, Celebrity Psychologist and TV Life Coach – Honey Langcaster-James, and top Beauty Journalist Alice Hart-Davis.
Each speaker provided an insight about ageing from within their respective fields; Honey Langcaster-James explained the impact of society on British women, and the ideologies which society has instilled in women from as young as childhood, which ultimately affect their perceptions of ageing. Alice Hart-Davis gave the audience her personal experience of ageing and asked the audience why as women we feel comfortable telling others about our makeup, hair and skin routine, yet we feel afraid to discuss facial fillers with our nearest and dearest.
Dr Tracy Mountford explained the anatomy of the ageing face, fromchildhood, adolescence, through to adulthood. She gave the audience real life examples and case studies from experiences with her own patients; taking away the fears associated with dermal fillers, and explained a most common complaint from the patients she consults was their dismay at feeling as if they aged over night, particularly after menopause. Dr Mountford went on to explain that when used correctly by qualified Practitioners; fillers create a soft, natural, and illuminating effect.
The evening was a great success; many women left the event feeling more confident about having been given clear facts, professional advice, and the chance to speak to Allergan’s campaign models who had dermal filler treatment.
