Unsure what to expect post CoolSculpting treatment? A basic guide with The Cosmetic Skin Clinic

By Dr. TRACY MOUNTFORD, MBBS MBCAM

Every person is an individual; when you have undertaken any procedure it is likely that you will have a similar experience to that of other people, be it a dental filling or a chemical peel.

But what if you experience something different?

While non-surgical cosmetics have seemingly taken the aesthetics industry by storm with articles on what to expect during the procedure, what the procedure does and FAQ’s, there are very few articles available on what you can expect in those days and weeks after your procedure is completed. This seems particularly odd, as this is the period when you can assess the success of the procedure, or conclude whether there is an issue.

Puzzled about how your legs should look after your CoolSculpting in Buckinghamshire? At The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, our highly trained team can help you to determine if the healing and the sculpting process is occurring as planned. If you are uncertain about your treated area, read on.

So, what can you expect immediately after CoolSculpting in Buckinghamshire?

The first 3 days

In the first week after you have undertaken CoolSculpting in Buckinghamshire with The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, it is likely you are going to experience some tenderness in the treatment area. However, other commonly reported sensations include tingling, itching, numbness, aching, cramping and muscular spasms around the treatment area. To alleviate any discomfort you may experience, apply a cold compress to the area. To help with any potential swelling, wear a medical compression garment. If you are concerned about the level of discomfort you are feeling, please contact a medical professional immediately and contact our clinic for a follow-up appointment.

The first month

During the first month, the effects are likely to involve a bit of redness, swelling and tightness in the treatment area. However, within this time frame, you will begin to see the results of the treatment. The layer of fat cells will begin to breakdown and will be disposed of naturally by your body, leaving you with a more sculpted and firmer area of skin. Depending on your individual metabolism, activity, and diet, this process may take slightly longer, but the majority of our clients who have undertaken this treatment notice results in about 1-3 months. If you are uncertain whether the procedure has worked, pop into The Cosmetic Skin Clinic for a follow-up assessment with our practitioners.

Things to help the healing process

Of course, there are things that you can do to help your treated area to recover.

As fat cells can return with poor diet or lack of exercise, it is worth maintaining a regular exercise regime and continuing with your healthy diet.

Similarly, upping your intake of fibre can be extremely beneficial, as fibre absorbs water weight, preventing the re-emergence of fat cells. Try to avoid carbohydrates and engage in eating good fats; these will reduce your appetite and will assist in the slower digestion of food.

Remember, if you have concerns about post-treatment, contact our friendly team at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic.
