Bring back a youthful and defined look that takes years off your face with our cheek filler treatments.

Loss of volume

A loss of volume in the cheeks can have a dramatic impact on your face’s appearance. As we age, we lose collagen and elastin in this area, which causes our cheeks to lose definition and shift downwards. The effects of gravity, fat and bone loss over time can also cause jowls to appear, which can make us look tired and aged. In order to restore structure and shape to the face, cheek fillers can be applied strategically to restore volume in the cheeks and bring back their taut and prominent look.

How do cheek fillers work?

A series of gel-like hyaluronic acid injections are applied to the soft tissues of the cheeks to restore volume and lift. Hyaluronic acid is a natural supportive protein found in the skin, which keeps our skin moisturised, plump and firm. We also use advanced collagen stimulator injections to boost natural collagen production deep within the skin.

These processes help to volumise the cheeks while restoring the supportive proteins that give our skin its defined structure. We use safe FDA-approved treatments from well-known brands like TeoxaneTeosyal, Restylane®Juvéderm® and Sculptra® to achieve the best results.

The benefits of cheek fillers

Cheek fillers restore harmony and balance to your face by firming up the skin of the cheekbones and giving your cheeks more prominence. With our non-surgical cheek lift treatments, visible results will be instantly noticeable straight after the procedure. There is minimal downtime, and the treatment can be combined with other procedures like anti-ageing injectables or lip fillers for maximum effect. Cheek fillers will:

Before & Afters

FAQ

We only use the safest, most effective FDA-approved, naturally biodegradable dermal fillers at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, such as the Juvederm® and Restylane® ranges. These hyaluronic acid fillers closely mimic the natural hyaluronic acid in our skin. They are injected deep within the tissues, for superior lift and sculpting possibilities to revolumise cheeks as well as hydrate the skin.
A collagen stimulator, such as Sculptra®, is an injectable treatment that is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLA), which occurs naturally, and is sometimes referred to as a ‘liquid facelift’. It has been specially developed to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen to replace lost collagen and replenish volume in the face over time, with subtle and natural results.

Cheek fillers like Juvederm® VOLUMA® have a built-in aesthetic – Lidocaine. They can be used most effectively and naturally to restore areas of lost volume in the mid-face that occurs as we age, which often contributes to sagging and jowling. Strategic and skillful placement of filler can lift and support the face naturally, redefining the cheeks and adding support where it is needed most.

Nasolabial lines and marionette lines can also be treated together with the cheeks to generate a lifting effect, known as the Y-Lift.

Cheek filler is specific to the cheek area; however, it can sometimes help improving appearance of marionette lines. It adds volume, which can help to lift the skin in the lower face therefore reducing the appearance of marionette lines. Your qualified practitioner can assess and determine whether your marionette lines can be positively impacted by cheek fillers or not.

To a certain extent, cheek fillers can help to lift jowls, however the results may not be significant enough. The issue with most jowls is volume loss and skin laxity. Our practitioners will assess and recommend the ideal jowl treatment in combination with your cheek filler treatment.

Different facial fillers achieve different outcomes. At your initial consultation with our qualified medical practitioners, we’ll discuss a personalised treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

In order to balance your features further, we can:

  • Remodel your chin, and give more definition
  • Soften moderate lines in your mouth to chin area and from your nose to lip corners
  • Define or enhance lips, subtly and naturally
  • Define the jawline
  • Restore lost facial volume.

Cheek filler results are immediately visible post treatment, however there is the possibility of there being some initial swelling or bruising. This is temporary and once it settles down over a few days to a week you will be able to see a more final result of a lifted cheek appearance.

We recommend following our practitioner’s advice regarding minimising swelling and bruising pre and post-treatment.

With dermal fillers, you should be able to notice the difference immediately as a non-surgical lift.

Collagen stimulating injections work to replace lost collagen and replenish volume in the face over time, with subtle and natural results achieved over several sessions.

Cheek Filler can take up to 2 weeks to fully settle.

Dermal fillers are semi-permanent and will break down over time depending on the area treated, so further treatment may be required to maintain your natural, understated appearance.

Most dermal fillers these days can last 6-12 months. Results from a collagen stimulation treatment such as Sculptra® can last up to two years.

Your medical practitioner will give you all the advice you need.

Dr Tracy Mountford, owner of The Cosmetic Skin Clinic, is renowned for her light hands and natural looking results. She personally handpicks and trains all of our medical practitioners to the highest level.

We will explain everything in detail and make you feel at ease and relaxed on the day of your treatment, knowing you’re in safe, expert and medically qualified hands.

Millions of dermal filler treatments have been performed worldwide and are extremely safe and effective when injected properly, resulting in the most natural of differences. The poly-L-lactic acid in collagen stimulating injections is biocompatible, fully absorbable, and successfully proven in a number of medical and pharmaceutical fields.

Neither form of treatment requires allergy testing.

Yes, cheek filler can migrate, however this is very uncommon. The cheek filler should stay in place as it is usually made of hyaluronic acid that is designed to be absorbed by the body over time.

However, the rare reports of cheek filler migration are normally due to inexperienced injectors or filler not being placed correctly, or the patient not adhering to the given aftercare guidance of not rubbing or massaging the treatment area.

Dermal filler treatment usually takes approximately 30 minutes, while collagen stimulating injection treatment takes about 30-45 minutes. There is little to no downtime and you can resume normal activities right away.

Many people find their procedure at The Cosmetic Skin Clinic more comfortable than expected, and most facial fillers contain an anaesthetic. Our medical practitioners are highly skilled and precise; you should merely feel a light sting on your skin during the injection procedure.
